Well, considering I've disassembled and reversed engineered Super Metroid's SPC700 sound driver, have written my own sound driver, wrote a BRR codec, made a handful of small games, and have built my own carts to put said games on, I wouldn't quite say it's idle speculation.

The game will play on a TV, although for a screen cap I posted an emulated version. Fun project and really easy (hardware modification that is). I can load other games on to the EPROM, so it's kinda like a prototype cart.
