How come we had so much kino Survival Horrors in the PS1 era and everything is dead now?
I remember that even outside the mainstream, we've had shit like Galerians, Fear Effect, Vampires Countdown, Clock Tower, The City of Lost Children etc (not to mention the PS2 era with Shadow Tower Abyss, Kuon, Cold Fear, Fatal Frame etc) that offered very different experiences between them while still being scary.
Nowadays, it feels that every survival horror that I see is the same game over and over, being just a corridor simulator with some jumpscares here and there. What happened with this genre?

galerians, i liked the really dark atmosphere and dystopian world, and playing as a young kid who has to violently kill people. i like the mechanic of using different drugs to get different powers, and being able to power up by overdosing. the main problem is that the english dub is really bad even though the japanese dub had some big name anime voice actors in it, but thats just how it was back then.

You can make heads explode.

This isn't a favorite of mine by any means, but maybe someone out there will check it out and like it.

I found Galerians to be an interesting game. Maybe lacking polish, a bit slow paced. I was enjoying it, but just stopped playing.

I think I got a (some) new games, and when I came back to Galerians later, I forgot most things and didn't bother continuing.

Anyone play this? How is it?

Is this game ever did one thing well, it was being weird.

Installed several console emulators on my android tablet recently, looking for good play station and n64 games to put on it, already have all the popular ones resident evil,mario 64,coonker,final fantasy etc, now im looking for obscure and overlooked games for these 2 glorious consoles, il start off with Galerians for PSX, interesting little game, you play as a young psychic boy trying to escape a government research lab.
