TIPS FOR BEGINNERS
>Don't let your Digimon shit on the ground.
>Make sure to get your meat daily, and try to upgrade your meat farm as soon as possible by recruiting Palmon and Vegiemon.
>Make sure your Digimon doesn't need to shit, eat, or is tired when you use training equipment.
>Always feed your Digimon when it is hungry.
>Scold your Digimon when it refuses to eat something — that is the only time to scold your Digimon. Never praise your Digimon.
>When your Digimon is tired (indicated by a teardrop status), go to the chair in Jijimon's house and rest or go to Centarumon's clinic and remove tiredness
>When you're Digimon is in the In-Training and Rookie stages, focus solely on training — you'll have plenty of time to battle and explore later
>If you're a beginner and keep getting Numemon it can be helpful to aim for 100 in each stat and 1000 for HP and MP. These stats should be high enough to get something other than Numemon
>When you're a bit more experienced, check out a website called Grindosaur, which has all the requirements for each Digimon

Really? I had trouble with that when I was young, but not as much anymore. Just make sure to feed them when they're hungry and shit in the toilet when they need to go.
Much of the game is actually spent training, and you could get a Numemon if your stats aren't high enough for your Digmon's age. A good goal is to try to train your Rookie Digimon to have at least 100 in all stats and 1000 in HP and MP. You're almost guaranteed to get a decent Champion Digimon that way.
Make sure to pick up mushrooms and remember the mushroom locations. You can save up on food by feeding baby Digimon mushrooms instead of meat. Get your meat every day, and try to recruit Palmon + Vegimon as soon as possible to get access to more filling meat. You should be able to recruit Palmon soon after you train your first Rookie or Champion.
Happiness and discipline can be balanced pretty easily if you're properly caring for your Digimon. Don't actually use the praise and scold commands except for when your Digimon refuses to eat something. When your Digimon refuses to eat something, you can increase both your discipline and happiness if you scold.
When your Digimon is tired (as indicated by the water drop), either take your Digimon to Punimon in Jijimon's house to rest or take it to Unimon's clinic if you have that unlocked.
