I think "damaged" is a very strong word to use here, it's way overhyped but the premise has frequently been "Look at how different and radically changed this is from normal Doom!" and extensive amazement at "This is all in the Doom engine and that's unbelievable!" or "Doom should not be able to do this!"
If someone came away from all that retarded hype thinking "So this is what Doom is..." then frankly, they probably have a massive fucking learning disability and would probably struggle to play either myhouse.wad.pk3 or just vanilla Doom. Considering how straightforward and easy the base game is to get into, especially these days, that should paint a vivid picture.

I'm not particularly bothered by this hypothetical casualty, and I also think this is just people inventing reasons to dislike myhouse.wank in response to its aggressive overexposure, which I understand emotionally, but I think you should stand back and take a breath, then think about the actual logic of that claim.
