Oh yeah, then he's gonna have a bad time. Blood is a tough game by design and it's pretty fucking merciless on higher skills. For anyone else's reference, the highest skill is Extra Crispy and it's designed under the assumption that you're playing co-op multiplayer, you aren't expected to be able to beat the game on single player on that setting.

You're probably sick of it right now, but consider giving it another try on a lower skill level some other day. It really is a very exciting shooter where being highly mobile is key.
Jumping and crouching a lot helps confuse the aim of gun toting cultists, so you wanna get down low and then jump around, jump up, jump up, and get down.

You can go wild with saving and loading, but you don't need to.
With the original .exe you had that bug where if you loaded a save, damage scaling for difficulties got flipped, so hard basically turned to easy and easy essentially turned to hard, and one of the oldschool approaches to that was simply to save at the exit of each level and you'd then just try to do a level in one whole go.
This was totally doable, and in that situation it was arguably easier because you didn't have to contend with a sudden spike in damage scaling.

Thankfully, ports fix that bug.

Most of this website is just total negativity. People seem genuinely interested in what they like, not just sticking around so be a contrarian douche and call stuff bad for the sake of replies. This website is still a habit but retro shooter general is just actually not bad to visit so I still show up. Also good place to get news on new mods and stuff

How does Raze compare with NBlood? I though Raze was for NBlood like BuildGDX iwas for BloodGDX.
Also the Polymost renderer for NBlood has been broken for like a year now with no fix in sight.

There's definitely a tinge of it. The game skates by on Caleb, the cultists, and the aesthetics/tone. The gargoyles and ghouls who fly in the air for 30 seconds at a time before descending so you can kill them is embarrassing. The zombies are absolutely not a threat ever, but at least the fat guys are fun to kill because that's true in any medium. Episode two was really hit and miss, like that one room with the gray gargoyle which you can totally just leave alone and exit the level. These fire dogs are a check to make sure you saved enough tesla ammunition, episode two's boss on Well Done has two of the spider bitch, but killing one will end the episode. How did that get past testing?

I don't think Blood is bad in any sense of the word, but I can definitely say it's a touch overrated. When you're fighting cultists, it's the best parts of Half-Life's Surface Tension or F.E.A.R.'s moment to moment gameplay. Everything else feels like the devs threw up their hands and wanted to move on.
