How do you feel about tank controls?

I've been trying to play through this game, but the controls are really ruining the experience for me. It's funny, because I don't remember being bothered by tank controls when I was younger.

Played this last week a bunch and about to pick it up again over the next 2 days cause I have them off. It was the only one out of the first four I've never played. I'm emulating it with pSX and up to the main shopping district area and into the alternate hospital.

Let's discuss how Silent Hill is fucking awesome.

Something about the primitive 3D graphics gives this a much more disturbing feel than the other games.
