People forget how utterly shit this game was on launch.

No party members, just 1 'henchman'. A character you couldn't equip, and literally leveled up by spawning an entirely new instance of the character. It was like some amatuer made this game.

No robes, wizards wore these doofy fucking vests. No cloaks. The combat was shit, the animations were shit, the story in the original campaign was shit.

The toolset is all that saved this game from being utter garbage.

This. Good GMs roll with the punches. I wouldn't play under a GM who just started banning people because he can't think on his feet with how to deal with players coming up with ideas like this. The best GMs I ever played under always had ways of taking someone doing something outrageous and turning it into a new storyline for everyone.
