Generally. They're not huge, and I don't think any of them I've seen fit in a larger envelope than 5000x5000, so definitely don't make anything absurd. But yeah. If you made a 2048 map and filled it to the brim it would probably be around the same floor space as one of their 3000 x 4000 maps.
I didn't check the size of every map though, I just picked ~10 at random.
