Retro is pre Disney buying it out though. Real Star Wars is the Lucas movies 1-6. Other stuff is ancillary, but sometimes good. Even as real Star Wars goes we have some fun ass games.

If the game has a save system then by it's nature it is a linear experience. Play a level, save, move on and pick up where you were last time. If it has passwords then you can choose to revisit and play any level you want any time. Depending on the type of game that can be a huge plus in my eyes.

I agree people seem to overestimate hpw difficult they are, but Empire has more tougher spots thsn SSW. Unless you're taking the level codes into account.

The only genuine tough spot of SSW in my opinion is the cantina boss which is a pain to beat if you don't get a health upgrade or two.

Jedi is the easiest of them, I agree there though.

I love all three of the SNES Star Wars games despite their reputations. But X-Wing and Tie Fighter are even better still.

It's a shame, I like the SNES hardware but something about the games on it didn't have as many titles that appealed to me. I wish there were more games like Metal Warriors and pic related.

I actually think all three games were pretty great but they get a lot of hate here so I'll accept that most people find them mediocre.

Some people complain about the difficulty for some reason, but I think the super star wars games are great fun.
