If the game weren't so exposition heavy during certain points where a character just sits there and flaps their yap for a full minute or two, then it wouldn't have been so egregious irritating. I ended up disliking Gears more as the story was reaching it's conclusion.
What I really enjoyed though is the world's aesthetic and atmosphere, which made me feel like I was exploring a piece of the Star Wars universe, the several dichotomies between whatever the names of all the factions and how they all connected to the plot, as well as this mother fucker's fuck ups and further mental deterioration as the story went along. Solaris' reveal was genuinely cool and I'll give credit to the overall spectacle of the game. It's a hell of a lot more impressive for a PS1 JRPG than FF7 is lauded for and that's coming from a 7fag.
