Raven Software pre-Heretic. Was very interesting: was a Doom-like FPS but with mouse cursor targeting?

This here's an obscure little title from none other than SSi and id software's long-time buddy, Raven Software. Raven kicked things off with an obscure first person shooter where you had full freedom of aim, an interactive HUD, medkits you pick up and have to use manually, and much more. It was a more complicated game than what they ended up working on with id. It's got thumping techno music and challenging levels.

Dosbox doesn't play well with it, and it tends to bug out a bit too frequently, irritatingly enough. All in all, however, it is a really wild shooter with some meaty weapons and gore aplenty.

However, I think some settings and tweaks will bring it to a proper light, all else fails, set up a VM and run it through that. I imagine it plays nice, nice enough anyhow.

Totally worth playing, it's like a system shock 1-lite.
