Ridge Racer - Worth visiting to see how it all got started, and still has great music. The hi-spec version is cool, but you're limited to time trial only because it can only draw two cars.

Ridge Racer 2 - Great game, best soundtrack in the series, and incredible two player gameplay, but it's kind of redundant.

Revolution - Best home version of classic RR. Link up mode is the bomb if you have two TVs and two PlayStations. Has the same soundtrack as RR2, and both the Revolution and RR1 courses are available in 2P.

Rave Racer - Best arcade RR. Only three tracks, but they're great tracks. Brilliant techno tunes to race to.

Rage Racer - Solid entry, good music.

Ridge Racer 64 - Western effort and not a great one.

Type 4 - Stunningly overrated but still good all the same. Half racing game, half RPG, there's tons of grinding for cars and pit crew dialogue to sit through. Not really fun until you start unlocking faster cars and races, but when you do, it's great.

RRV - Solid entry.

RRDS - Another Western effort, better than 64 but not much.

Ridge Racer PSP - Beginning of the nitrous era, and an incredible technical achievement for a handheld title. It still looks good now. Tons of tracks and remixes of classic tunes. Redundant in light of 2 though.

Ridge Racer 2 PSP - Improved version of the former.

Ridge Racer 6/7 - practically the same game, with 7 being the superior version.

3D - Excellent and underrated instalment in the series.
