Lot of Japanese anime and games did that at the time and honestly I fucking love it.

I have three or four bros that are also big retro buffs, and i occasionally invite them for soda and popcorn-fueled sleepovers, playing Dreamcast or taking turns at a survival horror. Also play some Arcade vidya online with a few guys.

I want to be that guy that will be there for my bros to unwind with and indulge in their childish side when life gets rough, in a way i already am.

Regarding recent experiences, the Dreamcast is by far the most affordable console to collect for. Good condition console in the $30s, several big name games can be found for $10 sealed due to massive overproduction (like Chu Chu Rocket and Space Channel 5), MOST games dwell in the $15-25 range CIB, including the majority of the system's classics, and even the truly hard to find stuff like D2 are in the $40-50 range. Of course, there are the anomalies like Cannon Spike ($150-ish), but those are literally one in 500.

The Playstation can be very cheap or very expensive, and that depends entirely on what you're going for. Action games and platformers are very cheap, but god bless your ass if you go for the fightans or JRPGs.
