The palette swaps at least all played differently (or as differently as MK characters ever get) with their own special moves. Meanwhile by the time we got to the 3d era there would be plenty of different looking characters that controlled and fought exactly the same.

Based, Stryker was always the chad choice to troll your friends with in MK3. I like how people did rave about his "redesign" in MK9 when literally all they did was turn his 90's backwards hat around.
