I was gone from /vr/ for 3 or 4 days and I come back to this? How the hell did all this shit go down? Dud it begin with an announcement thread or did someone just suddenly notice that the sticky had been updated? I hope someone in this thread can catch me up to speed, maybe even point me to whatever thread was ground zero for the change (if there was a main one and not just an explosion of new threads all at once).

For the record, I was one of the ones who thought an exception could be made for GBA. But fuck me, I didn't think they'd push it to 2007.

There is this idea that's haunted me for year. It's weird and I don't know if anyone else here would find it funny, but if I had the means to produce this and put it on YouTube I would. Here it goes:
>in the late 80s a young boy is watching The Super Mario Bros. Show. in the comfort of a darkened living room
>the credits begin as normal, but the song soon gets stuck on the first phrase
>e.g. duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh "DO THE MARIO! "
>but each time Capt. Lou Albano repeats it he gets a little angrier
>soon it's duh-duh-duh-duh-duh-duh "I SAID, DO THE MARIO!"
>cut to the little boy trembling with fear and peeking out from under a blanket
>"DO THE FUCKING MARIO, KID!"
>the boy hides completely under the blanket, and Mario adds more obscenities as the kid refuses to get up and do the Mario
>sparks and smoke erupt from the TV, and all the lights in the house flicker then go out
>after a moment of silence where all you can hear is the boy's frightened breaths, something in front of him clicks
>a flashlight illuminates the face of Mario himself in the flesh
>"It's pasta time."
