Mynx could have tons of John Q. Spess Mehreens, being a bounty hunter and all, but Hunter's side would be the perfect place to stick all the weird dinosaurs and aliens and space pirates and everything else that you'd want to put in a game but would otherwise have to make the whole setting about it. Smashing Venusians and Chtonians' heads in can't be that much different from flaying a Sorg.

256 color palette focused on reducing banding, making the game rather monotone

Because of the lower enemy count, so they're made more challenging and dodging attacks is more important than killing a room with a single shot
also stop using the shotguns like it's Doom
>Why is the music so forgettable?
Because you can't appreciate ambient music
>Why was there essentially no innovation on the Doom formula?
There's plenty. Perhaps not as much as the competition but it did things most others weren't
A greater variety of unique monster attacks and behaviors, a focus on timing and dodging attacks including baiting melee
Not to mention the verticality and 3D space of the levels that 2.5D shooters struggled with

I like how BJ, Doomguy and Ranger looked gnarlier than their previous protag
BJ is Hollywood gorgeous, Doomguy is some grizzled veteran and Ranger has the face of a bulldog who swallowed a wasp
Doomguy's still got some good looks in him but I'd cross the street to avoid Ranger

Don't know if it was the latest version of GZDoom or the latest D4D, but I've noticed quite a performance drop, settings on gibblets seem to be the same, though.

Anyone else experienced the same?
