>For me it was modern games lack of soul, and challenge.

For me it was the fact that those systems were current tech as I grew up. I got back into retro because I was sick of muh cutscenes and feeling like every game was a reskin of a floating unity camera simulator.

There are good modern and I play them, but most feel very similar and simply like you are pointing a floaty camera from point A to point B. They lack soul and as a result it felt like you were simply trying to move things around on a screen without involving your brain at all.

Good retro has a charming (be it cute or dark) atmosphere, fun gameplay, engaging gameplay. These things are SOUL to me. It's much easier to say "SOUL" than type out a paragraph like I just did.

IMO this game would be great fun even without the Link's Awakening link, but I'll admit I would have never tried it without the association.

Anon, if you really did make them, you realize you wasted a ton of time doing this instead of just splicing the wires together (with solder) and covering them with heat shrink tubing?

I sometimes go there for laughs in the retro game stuff. They were praising this thing like it was the second coming of Jesus. Seriously, I fucking hate the place but it's got good gore source material. They were lining up to buy this piece of shit.
