Atari Jaguar, 1995:
>never played an FPS, no idea it's even a thing or that this game is even it
>friend tells me in the store to take this one
>the cover looks amazing
>ok i buy
>back home we insert the cartridge and turn the console on
>friend tells me to close my eyes so i don't get spoiled by the demo
>open my eyes in hangar
>WTF is happening
>i'm seeing through the eyes of the character
>it looks so real
>it's so dark
>there's no music
>my friend is too scared to play(we're 12)
>i'm addicted
>i play it religiously for months when i come back from school until late
first time a game blew my mind

This and quake for DC, with the licensed kb and mouse setup. Still have them, the kb wiring especially is pretty shitty

Can't believe nobody mentioned this. Besides the missing music, it was by far the best console port of Doom right up until the PS1 version. It's still truest to how Doom looked on a 486.

Doom (Atari Jaguar, imo the best console port)

Flaws
>No fucking music besides in-between levels
>No Cyberdemon, Spider Mastermind, or spectres
>Choppy controls
>Explosions can affect through walls
