Most SNES games are also easier than early NES games. It was just the industry casualizing itself in general. People act like games being made easier is a recent thing when it actually started in the early 90s. Nintendo reached their peak casualness they still have today with the N64. For example I love OoT but it's a ridiculously easy game. I have to patch the game so you take x4 damage to give it any semblance of challenge
