Funnily enough, Devil Daggers.

The total insane pace and exhilaration of the game takes my mind entirely off of reality and makes me focus on the game and nothing but the game. I don't rage at it like I do with other fast-paced games like Super Meat Boy or Hotline Miami, but I enter this crazy wizard trance where my heartrate is 100bpm and I have to concentrate every single fucking moment on the game or else I might die.

I remember watching a Cinemassacre video where James and Mike are playing the Atari 2600, and Mike says his favorite game is Kaboom, for the reason that the game gets so fucking intense later on that you cannot focus on anything but the game, and you enter this zen trance of total absorption and immersion and escapism into the game, where nothing else matters, there is no rage, or fear, or depression, there's just you, infinite daggers, and an endless horde of screaming demons.
