The developer actually got a site from which he sells it and some of his other games, and it's STILL MAINTAINED after all these years.

I think he's associated with Big Fish, although I doubt they have exclusive rights to restrict the distribution of his work.
In other words, he keeps things in obscurity out of his own volition.
