It only has 6 levels, but they are long levels with many different sections.
Let me guess OP, you got casual filtered on the train part.

I played through Buster Busts Loose again last night, it's been many years since the last time I plowed through it. Every time I tried to play it, I got casual-filtered on the train level. In reality my problem was with the part you have to jump the logs Arnold throws at you, I always used dash+jump to get to the bandwagon, I thought that's how you were supposed to do it, and in fact you can, but it's really hard to do so, I fucked up like 10 times one after another. For the first time testerday I realized you can land on the bandwagon if you jump very early and do a long jump. Now I can play through this game anytime again with confidence.
It's not a long game but it's very sweet.
I loved the haunted mansion level, this part reminded me of one of the chapel level in Rondo of Blood, it has the same candles on the background. Even a sort of Dracula/vampir enemy appears in this part (and apparently you can't kill him).
