At the moment, I'm really pushing for proper sword sprites, since that's (I think) the most important weapon...well, not to mention the entire focus of the mod.
Depending on how Mike feels afterwards, though, a shotgun isn't out of the range of possibility. It seems he's fond of the Marathon design and would go with that, and we haven't really discussed or thought about what the grenade launcher/hammer should look like.
