so in terms of setup, my dslr and gameboy are both on a flat surface. The gameboy is propped up on its right side to give the camera a nice view. I actually superglued the LCD to the circuit board to keep it in place, and also to ensure the insanely-fragile ribbon cable isn't harmed, seriously >>5751714 be careful with it.
I still haven't found a perfect solution for light & glare. There is a big black sweatshirt on top of the camera, and there is white paper between the camera and GB reflecting light. Above this whole mess I hold an normal incandescent bulb that is diffused by cloudy plastic. If you know anything about photography (I dont) I'm sure you can dream up a better solution.
