saturn is probably the best overall
super 5 has the better battle mode, but only allows up to 5 players and its normal mode isn't as entertaining as saturn's

i feel that saturn's multiplayer is a bit overrated. the battle mode isn't quite as good as super bomberman 3 or 5 if you have less than 4-5 players. it feels a bit slower paced if you don't use bots to fill the remaining players in and tirras are a little weird - purple one is almost completely useless and you can time hopping off the dinosaur to dodge explosions. stage variations activated by the xyz buttons on stage select are also much tamer than password stuff in the super bomberman games.
the special 9-10 player mode disables some of the powerups and has 1 stage (4 with the xyz cheat), you also really need as many human players for it as you can get because ai is absolutely pitiful in these large maps

the normal mode has co-op and some of the most finely crafted stages in a 2d bomberman game peppered with little details you'll see only once in the entire game and with a great soundtrack to boot. master mode is pretty cool too

There's been so many, everyone's played and enjoyed a Bomberman game.

Lesson from this fiasco: never fuck up so much with a classic francise. If they wanted a reboot at least they should make it playable.
