Dude, that happened a decade later.

I seen the other way around.
Some sets are able to be turned on from standby by external devices.

Also the original reason for RGB was that SECAM doesn't mix well with inserted signals like OSD generated by a device like a VCR or satellite receiver (pic related), so the device could just output plain composite SECAM and let the TV overlay the OSD by using the additional RGB input and it's enable signal (these 1-3V on pin 16, the word 'fast' in it's description means it the TV can switch between composite and RGB quickly with about 10 nanoseconds).
