My favorite Super Famicom game is probably Chrono Trigger. The pacing, story, art, and music are top notch. Aside from that, you can't go wrong with games from Konami, Capcom, Nintendo, and Square on the Super Famicom as it is hard to decide favorites because they are all so good.

The Aleste series is amazing. I would recommend looking into the MSX, Game Gear, and PC-Engine if you are into the series. Dennin Aleste on the MegaCD is pretty good too.

Printing technology has gotten so far. Now it is in HD it can fit the other 3/4 of the image. Back then it was only in SD and displayed only the top-right quarter on the cover.

I hope more get the HD treatment too.

This was the first thing to come to mind to answer OP's question.

Since that's taken, I guess Techno Soft games?

I believe they are. In fact, I also remember constantly trying to get my NES to play a game right without the glitches, but aside from that, like the 2600, Genesis (early models), TurboDuo, and SNES all just played games ready from the moment they were powered on. There was no bootup logo and typically no intros. The start button can even just skip right past that Sega logo.

I remember renting that once, and I didn't like it. A shame since X-men was a big thing back then. I surmise the game was chosen because what I really wanted to rent was already rented out so I settled to see it. I did not get far but I do not know why I didn't like its controls. I think the first game got more coverage in EGM.

I like the shooting games on the system.

I cannot verify at this time, but I remember reading in US magazines that people were complaining there were too many shooting games on the system that Sega had to intervene and tell their few 3rd party devs that did not sign with Nintendo to stop making shooting games, which is like madness to me "stop making good games." I think it was in EGM primarily if you want to fact check that.

I don't think anyone is arguing that the SNES can display more colors than the Genesis. Working within the confines of the 64 (or 61 actual?) displayed colors of a significantly more limited 512 palette required a bit of art direction to make things look good on the Genesis. Concessions would have to be made for a Chrono Trigger-like game, but I do not think Crusaders of Centy looks bad, so I think it may be possible.

I wish we didn't steer you wrong on the archived thread it was all about the bootlegs and had I known what you were looking for I would have said it may be best you go for the official x5 or x7. For a save cart you can use:

Even though my nostalgia locks the SNES sounds to my memory, hearing the songs in Genesis 6FM+4PSG sounds good to me too.

Scarcity. Plus they can just be fine games. Then again, here in the US, those Atari 2600 games are still cheap, so all I can guess is forces of supply and demand.

Despite all the hate it seems to get from the internet, I actually liked it as a gun experiment. Love the bonus stages. The colors are wonderfully vibrant and the music is nice. I can see how everyone keeps mentioning how the stages are empty with no enemy resistance nor instant kills, but it was a fun experience just moving around. However, I should warn you my standards for liking a game is low, I am easily amused when I push a button and shit happens.

I also have it for the Saturn, but it is nice with the immediacy where there is no load times. I mean these days I just play the game on MAME if I wanted to, but for $5, I thought it was worth it.
