I liked the PS3 version just fine, although it apparently has different climbing physics to the original North American release, I never had a problem with it.
The remake had some really awful looking changes. Emon looked like Tommy Lee Jones, for example. A lot of the neat artistic tricks used in the original to attain impressive visual effects has been lost, and the remake has a fairly sterile look to it when it comes to its image. I would avoid it, zoomies seem to love it though.
