I'm a music autist. I can only speak for Heretic.

Technically it's all chiptune, as it's all digital music, that end ups sounding like synthesizer music because of the limitations of the era (sampling modified via modulation).

Genre wise its influences are:

1* Dark Ambient (industrial + ambient) + Neofolk (industrial+folk or folk assisted by modern instruments depending on who you ask) with heavy orchestral elements - E1M4, first half of E1M6, E1M8, E1M9, E2M1, E2M6
2* Jazz / World Fusion- Intro, Outro, E1M1, E1M2, E1M3, second half of E1M6, E1M7, E2M2, E2M9, E3M2, E3M3
---POWERGAP---
3* basic rock / punk tempos - E1M5, E2M3, E2M7
4* Synthesizer Music - E2M4, E2M8

Ouside E1M5, E2M3, E2M7, tracks present a mix of all elements, but generally try to achieve a sort of mix: industrial with jazz fusion sensibilities, specially that bass and drumming, he does try to experiment and comes up with some tracks that sound like traditional synth music, namely E2M4 & E2M8

That "gritty synths that sounds like a guitar" and that straight from jazz fusion bass are things very specific to Kevin Schilder, you'll be hard out of luck to find that stuff elsewhere.

What you want depends in a lot what you liked from those 3 influences:

For the Fusion, right off the bat I can recommend some tracks from Tommy Tallarico's MDK score, that is veeery jazz fusion and uses orchestral arrangements. But the synths sound like real synths and not chiptune.

For the Industrial (Dark Ambient really) and the synthesizer elements I recommend Jesper Kyd's Freedom Fighters OST

Or pure dark ambient, just go straight into Kurt Hartland's Soul Reaver OST

If you just want pure chiptune and didn't know what it is, I may interest you with demoscene music
