Nice. I got through 2 primarily with the the turbo buttons to spam attacks in random encounters to grind up. It was one of my must have games that convinced me to get the Duo back then.

At the time, I didn't realize as I do now that my opinion and taste in video games is very uncommon. Video game companies at the time had just an open ear to listen and really wanted to make their customers happy, and with my uncommon tastes steered them the wrong way As I just confessed in >>8846554

Renovation were convinced over the long phone call the FMV games was a segment of the market left unfulfilled. Those working on the phone lines may not often get positive calls and the few would be memorable. I remember being a listening ear and positive voice to the Megatech guy and his frustrations with the world but I was glad they offered their anime games to the DOS platform that it was a lasting impression on both of us. The developers were eager to please, and surprisingly did see the feedback in those registration cards.

That means nothing, I also have the Cosmic Fantasy Visual Collection. The sprite and background layer based cinematics impressed me in its day. In fact those were the standout feature that got me interested in Ninja Gaiden to begin with from Nintendo Power. Valis also intrigued me for the same reasons back when the magazines like Mega Play and EGM would show screenshots, it would be of the cutscenes.
