What are you thoughts on these establishments? They seem to be gaining tracking in larger US cities. Do you frequent one? Is there something that would make you go to one or something you hate about barcades in general?

I've got some buddies who are convinced that a barcade would be a legitimate money maker in this day and age. More specifically, a retro barcade with retro standup cabinets.

I know it's not exactly a new idea and I have a hard time believing the ones that are thriving are doing so off the retro gaming scene. Something tells me the successful barcades are probably frequented by nu-males and gamer gurls, and make their money by specifically not catering to retro gamers.

What's /vr/ thoughts on these establishments?
