The only problem was that it didn't tell you what attributes to max , if you maxed the wrong ones or made everything even, you'd be in deep shit.


The best RPG I would have to say was" Arc the LAD (1+2+Arena)

(1+2+Arena were supposed to be one game, but there were deadlines

>Interesting and usual story
>SRPG simplified for beginners but there is enough depth, for hardcore players
>smooth music composed by T-square, the same band that does the Grand Turismo tracks
>great art and great sprite work
>one of the first modern contemporary rpgs
>character archetypes unseen before in most games
>interesting locals based upon the real world countries and ones often not seen in gaming media
When was the last time you saw malaysiai/indonesia or run down eastern European potrayed in games let alone rpgs for that matter.?

>side quests gallore via the hunters guild, which actually did quite a bit of world building

>secret characters which brought more depth to the game and quite a bit of comedy relief

>Monster battling system that did out did pokemon by tenfold


The only reason it isn't number one in the states is because it got embargoed until 02', but it was too late by that point because the PS2 cycle started (despite the comparability)

I only got to play it because I saw an article on rpgamer, and rushed to the stores when it came out. I was 14 in 02'
