Silpheed is more of a shmup, Starblade is a proper rail shooter in first person perspective so probably closer to something like Shadow Squadron for 32X only it's on rails. Imo the prerendered 3D is a lot more convincing which makes it a little more fun to play, but unlike Shadow Squadron and Silpheed it's missing the music. You might also like SoulStar which uses scaling effects for 3D

It's basically Genesis on steroids

The scaling effects are pretty cool too, and FMV when used properly (see: Starblade, Silpheed, etc). Sonic CD did a pretty good job with both of these as well

Starblade is very good and doesn't feel like an FMV game at all (at first glance it resembles an early PS1 or Saturn game). A/X-101 and Star Wars: Rebel Assault are in the same category though it's a little more obvious that they're using FMV visuals. Aside from that it's mostly the animated ones, Road Avenger, Time Gal, Dragon's Lair, Space Ace, probably Cobra Command.

FMV also works very well for stuff like >>10088876. 3DO has a few more games like Burning Soldier but there's a separate thread for that
