Why did people accept Zelda “burn every bush and bomb every wall” 1 but not this?

Konami owed this a real sequel.

Why is it so hated but Zelda 2 is good?

How would you fix this game? I feel like there were many cool ideas here that didn't return in the later Castlevania games. For example I like exploring the cursed Transylvanian countryside outside of Dracula's castle with towns and everything, but it could use more distinct locations and more memorable NPCs. I also like the whole premise of hunting down the remains od Dracula and them functioning as upgrades, but unfortunately they were barely useful in this game. The shield was probably the best one but there were too few enemies that could be countered with it, the eye was a nice concept but it couldn't even be used to see fake floors, the nail was another okay idea since it replaces throwing holy water but since many fake blocks are on the floor where you can't whip it's almost useless, the rest are boring glorified keys. Improving and adding bosses is also a given, they're fucking pathetic as it is.
