here's what i can tell you from using bad N64 s-video cables. a lot of them are poorly wired and just separate the luma from the chroma (something like that, i can't remember all the details). eventually bad interference and improperly shielded cables will give you muddy colors, flickering in moments where's significant amounts of black on screen, and eventually the picture will just become unstable and out of sync prompting you to restart the console.

i can't comment much from the screenshots alone, but as long as none of what i described happens, congrats you have talent kid.
