Agreed! With the toploader, Super Famicom, and indeed the NES, Nintendo had clearly learned its lesson: gaudy colors make for a gaudy console. Tasteful neutral tones with just a small splash of color go a long way toward salvaging the original Famicom design. Funnily enough, bright red makes a Fisher-Price design look even more like a toddler's toy. Who'da thunk it?
