Controversial opinion: Battletoads' main flaw was having limited continues. With unlimited continues, it would be a fun, obscenely difficult troll game. Limited continues are what make it maliciously cruel.

Have you done it? Have you finished Battletoads? If not how far did you get before quitting? I can finally get to the Elevator Shaft. It feels pretty awesome getting that far on a game that kicked my ass so badly back in the day. I'm gonna beat this shit eventually damn it!

not only will it take you awhile to beat the first time, but once you beat it the real replay value comes in as you feel the need to go back and completely master each stage
