The image quality on the Evangelion VHSs from ADV were a lot better better than their DVD counterparts released circa 2001. I know they did a renewal remaster afterwards and that probably looks a lot better, but the first edition of Evangelion on DVD by ADV has questionable quality (the japanese R2 ones are great though)
