I just finished Metroid + Saving, basically it lets you use battery saves in place of passwords, and has a functional map system when you pause. It also combines the wave and ice beams which is kinda cheaty but that's not why I used it.

First time playing Metroid, it's a decent enough game but some rooms are a pain, lots of empty spaces and such. I got the second best ending (sub 3-hours)
