the ikana well seems to be associated with zoras fountain. this one is just perfect. they were hiding a clear exit point under the ice. unlike all the other areas in ocarina, the fountain never melts for this reason. you definitely were tasked to go down there after melting the ice due to beating a new dungeon. this even happens in majoras mask. after beating snowhead the snow fucking melts. maybe snowhead was also intended for ura? you already have the megaton hammer that would act as the goron punch. obviously the leaps wouldnt be there in this version.
after the ice melts the ikana well area would open up for another mini dungeon. maybe beating snowhead melts the ice but beating this well area brings back the zora? the image on the right is from the gigaleak dd map.

for all we know it probably switched over immediately after what we seen from the leak but that doesnt mean the next few things inserted would have still been made with ura in mind. the info we gained solidified the fact they didnt know what the fuck to do for the disk expansion. we could conclude the basics planned

extra dungeons-the spider and well dungeons align with kokiri and zora theming as they are also haphazardly inserted in place of deku and jabu dungeons consecutively. had they had more time with them they could have snapped them in better places like a new exit from lost woods and the blocked off cave under zora fountain but thats just being hopeful. i wouldnt be surprised if the goron race would have represented the 3rd area but again being optimistic

are we sure it was from an earlier stage of development? what if it was for a future feature

well the ikana well appears to be associated as a replacement to jabu jabu while the spiderhouse to deku tree. it doesnt seem like they have ever gotten to a point where these locations would have actually gone but i imagine the well would have fit in the famous zora domain underwater doorway.
the only major issue is that if it were to go there it would be always submerged since theres no "pool exit cliff" if you know what i mean. that is, only if you went there AFTER the ice thawed. if it was still frozen that creates a new issue of there being no way to get through the ice to enter.
