Sorry for my autism, but what is the point of max completion porcentage with arbitrary numbers? For example, SOTN has 200.6% as the max completion porcentage.
Anyone playing this game will reach 100% and think that's all the game has to offer and go on with their life, not aware that they only explored half of the game.
And even if they go back and actually try to complete the game, they will be left with uncertainty. They will reach like 130%, get stuck and think with themselves; Is that it? Did I complete the game or not? Why didn't they put 100% as the max number, so there would be no confusion left?
And even if you manage to complete the game, you will be left with uncertainty once again. "200.6%? No, you can't be it. There must be more left to explore. There's no way they put such an odd number as the max porcentage. I'm missing something."
Why 200.6%? Why not 100%? or even 200% Why such confusing, arbitrary number?
That also goes to every other game that uses anything but 100% as the max completion porcentage

This game is kind of a mess, isn't it? I mean, it's great, one of my favorites, but Iga really threw in everything and the kitchen sink, with absolutely no regard for balance or pacing.

I remember "beating" the game, and by that I mean getting to the credits, but now I realize that apparently there's an entire part of the game I missed including fighting dracula and SHAFT? what did I do wrong

Is it even any good? Is Castlemania dead?

Just finished this and god damn what a great game. The attention to detail is incredible and it makes me feel like it was made in a time where publishers were not bearing down on overstuffed projects with rigid deadlines. Games are definitely not put together with this kind of craftsmanship these days.

Any others in the series I should try, or other recommendations on psx?

I can't get into this game. It feels so clunky compared to the Nintendo DS Castlevanias. How do I get into it?

So I finally got a physical copy of SOTN (palfag here). I've emulated before but I can't seem to get into anything that way. Hoping this will live up to the hype. What am I in for/general Castlevania thread?

This was released just a few years after Super Metroid, but there still aren't any serious romhacks. I would love to have a whole new castle, with different item and enemy placements. But alas. The game is going to be 20 years old next year. If there were gonna be any romhacks, there would have been by now.

There are edited saves that let you play the game at Level 1 for the duration of the game. Probably the best we'll get:

>There will never, ever, ever be SotN rom hacking ever
>No romhacks with new castles to explore
