It was likely the growing pains of games at last being advanced enough to tell a story but not getting a decent enough write staff to work on it. They tried to shove so much random Giger artwork into it as well. I don't think he actually had a thing to do with the game.

At least Raymond Benson ended up doing a Splinter Cell novel I enjoyed.

I am 26 and my first game was Mario 1 in 89. Just something about trying to figure out the controller was a lot of fun.

It's just like emulation of the games themselves. You can do significantly better if you put down $20.

If you actually have money or care about the sound itself, do what those chiptune people do. Or get into C64 and MSX computers and figure out how to make music with those.
