New to the Commodore 64. Bought the lot mainly for the monitor, but got 3 Commodores with it. One doesn't work, One works, albeit with characters flickering and anytime I use the keyboard, the characters placed on screen are the ones you would get if you held down the shift key, but I am not doing so. The Commodore pictured was apparently an extra as the lot only pictured 2. Ironically enough, even though the case is in really rough shape, is missing the key next to the pound sign, and initially didn't power on, I just replaced the fuse and it powers on and all the keys work fine.
Problem is, as I am new to this system, I am not quite sure if the cable I have is a composite cable with stereo RCA jacks, or if the cable I have is actually the "Commodore Video" (S-Video) cable. Problem is, when I plug in all of the cables into their color respective spots in the back, I get no picture, but when I plug in the video, (or maybe chrominance) cable into the front, I get image pictured. It looks like there may have been some previous damage to the jack on the back, and I have opened and worked on a CRT before, but never repaired a non functional jack, so if y'all have any tips. Let me know. Picture of the back incoming.
