Idk man it never felt that way to me. Maybe as a kid it did but once I got more familiar with the game it started to feel pretty weird. Things like the well doesn't feel out of place 1 bit, when in a normal game surreal places like that feel like they're in another time and space.

>Porting a beloved game to a modern console is the biggest cancer
>On-Disk DLC
>Loot boxes that are in legal grey areas
>Design by committee
>Cinematic experience
>Political agenda is more important than the actual game
>Selling fan mods as DLC (Beamdog did this with NWN)
>Mod payment system
>Dumbing down a series with every single installment
The list goes on. Maybe you think the remakes are inferior to the originals, but you're a contrarian retard if you think remakes are the biggest cancer in this aids infested weimar-republic-tier industry.

No, you faggot.

Arguably true, those things don't have to be bad, but there was certainly a focus on them which was detrimental in many ways.

>Long gone were the times where small companies or even just three-four friends could design and execute a whole game on their own.
It's easier than ever for just a couple of guys to make a game together, there's free tools, there's free assets, endless useful documentation, it's easy to communicate and organize together, etc.

It's in fact so easy that whatever dumb faggot or lazy asshole can just slap something together out of free assets and flip it on Steam, which in one sense is a plague, but it shows that if you're the kind of person who has ambition and drive, there's basically nothing that stops you from trying to make a game.

That's like saying disk media ruined games because it allowed people to make shitty ass FMV games.
