It shoves the DS gimmicks everywhere to detrimental effects, from making you rapidly swipe the stylus or blow into the mic for a boost start, to shoehorning tracing puzzles for no reason other than to be there.

Not really for the aesthetics but it often shoehorns the DS's gimmicks in places where they have to be there and it really just brings down the whole experience.

It's also missing Banjo and Conker, they had a legit reason, but it still sucks.
