/vr/ - Retro Games

Just beat this, it was mostly great, and the closest thing to a retro 2D game in 3D I have ever played. In comparison to 3D Mario or 3D Sonic, the gameplay has barely changed between 2D and 3D Ghosts and Goblins. It transitioned perfectly.

The only thing I didnt like were the general aesthetic and design of the enemies and main character. Some bosses were too goofy.
I liked the final boss, absolute surprise and very different. I think Dark Souls took some things from this game, like the fake chests that attack biting you. Even the final boss was a bit like Nashandra.

I'm a boomer that only played Civilization III, IV, Rome Total War, and emulated SNES/GBA games from 1999 to 2013, so I missed out on the PS2 Gen

Is this sequel Army of Zin good? Does he find his girlfriend Sophia or was that left for a sequel that was never made?

Maximo is better than Dark Souls.
