How are you intended to kill the archvile you are locked in here with? Telefragging him is really inconsistent and you can't DPS him to death before he explodes you. I had to reload a save like six times before I telefragged, there is no way that's intended unless the devs wanted people to savescum with this bullshit random knowledge check sudden death shit.
