/vr/ - Retro Games

I haven't played the classic GTA games in years, but back in the days they were some of my favorite games. I didn't even play the missions, the ability to get out of the car and walk around the huge city was mindblowing enough.

I played GTA 1 with my brothers so damn much. It's one of the games that really got me interested in video games and in computing. When GTA3 came out... oh boy... trying it out for the first time was something I will never forget.

Motherfucking GRAND THEFT AUTO. The newer games are not so much about just driving anymore, but the classic GTA games are all about driving.

>car next to you explodes
>police runs under the explosion sprite
>turns into regular pedestrian with slightly darker uniform

What was with this? Was it a glitch? I remember it happening more than one time. There were also some other weird happenings going on with the old GTA games.

>suddenly one of the cars just explodes for no reason
>didn't even touch it because I'm on foot

>cops are after me
>cop gets near my car, about to open the car door
>open the door immediately before he gets to open it
>cop dies
