Is the RGB cable for your Master System SCART? If so, it might be wired for Japanese RGB-21 instead of EuroSCART. You'd either need to find a cable wired for EuroSCART or buy a RGB-21 to EuroSCART cable.

I bought a multi scart connector that connects a single scart lead to a snes/saturn/xbox/ps1/dreamcast. I have it hooked into a homemade cable that converts scart to a db9 connection that my amiga monitor accepts. The problem is that only the saturn shows any video, while everything else shows a black screen. Do you think it might have something to do with the different pin configurations between EU scart and JP scart like pic related?
