I remember how big of an accomplishment it was to defeat the Johto league gyms and finally find myself on the way to the Elite Four. When I arrived and that man told me I took my first steps into Kanto, the region I had conquered about a year prior, I felt like my hard work had actually meant something.

The same goes for the ending credits theme.

It just makes you feel like a winner and gives a sense of closure when you hear it.

Both songs bring me back to a time when all I had to worry about was where to find the next Pokemon and how I'd get there.
I really wish I could play the game for the first time again. Exploring the region and seeing all those new Pokemon for the first time was really magical to me.
